While I was out of town I had my furnace serviced by Emmonds because I was selling the house. 2 days later my house sitter stopped by to check on things and my heat was up to 82 degrees!! (This was in February by the way). Unfortunately it was 5:30 PM and their office was closed so I was put through to their emergency service and eventually I was put through to a gentleman named Miguel who seemed very annoyed about my concerns that my heat has been over 80 degrees for 2 days now. He wanted to come over in the morning instead and I pleaded with him to go check it out that night. He said he was about 45 minutes away and I told him that I would have my neighbor meet him there to let him in. 2 hours later he showed up and my neighbor let him in. He called me within 5 minutes and said that my thermostat was no good and if I wanted him to change it, it would be an additional $100. I said no thank you as I would be home 2 days later and change the $30 thermostat myself. He said Okay well I'll need a credit card number for your current $206 charge for me to come out here. After arguing with him for 10 minutes and pleading with him to cut me a break since HE DID NOTHING but shut my furnace off, he didn't budge one bit and I paid the $206 for nothing as far as I'm concerned. Funny how I had NO issues with my heating system EVER before they "serviced" it and immediately after I have an issue and they charge me $206 to do NOTHING. I called the office the next day and got nowhere with that either. I'm very displeased with MJ Emonds Mechanical Contractors, LLC level of customer service, and Miguel's attitude the entire time. I had a tech from MJ Emonds at my house (emergency AC repair) - response within 4 hours, the tech (I would like to mention his name but out of respect for his privacy I will withhold) was excellent, conscientious, knowledgeable (diagnosed the problem within in a few minuets - 4 year employee), and overall the exact kind of representative of a company you would want to show up to your home to do a quality job, take the time to make sure everything is working properly and get everything back up and running. Great job all around - and he spoke very highly of his company - great endorsement!
